Kung Fu, the base foundation: The Southern Shaolin Academy features well-trained, professional instructors, progressive teaching methods, and a Lineage that can be traced back to China. More than your average commercial school, our Shaolin system, known as Five Animal/Five Family Kung Fu, improves the physical and mental conditioning of its practitioners. The Southern Shaolin Academy is located in the commercial area of Ewing, NJ, which will help encourage a safe and secure atmosphere for training.
Southern Shaolin Academy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dao Concepts, LLC. At Southern Shaolin Academy, our goal is to help our students "unleash the potential within"--words we don't just say, it's what we do! Let us help you excel, whether it is at work; at school; or in your personal endeavors.
Dao Concepts was founded on the principle of discovering the way from within. One must be in harmony mentally, physically, & spiritually to live a balanced life. Although you will initially notice we focus on the martial or physical aspects of Chinese Martial Arts, the broader vision is so much more.
The Mission of Southern Shaolin Academy: To give students the vision to see beyond the social barriers that prevent one from living life to its fullest. Helping students understand that no matter what we learn or from whom we learn, the real and only teacher is within.
Southern Shaolin Academy's Head Instructor & Co-Founder: Sifu Louis Diaz is a world champion martial artist. For more than three decades, he has been studying different forms and styles, honing his skills into gold-medal winning form. Sifu has studied with some of the best martial artists in the world and the list of his teachers reads as a Who's Who of Chinese martial artists in America: Norman Smith, Lu Xiao Ling, Li Pei Yun, Li Kam Loung, Nick Gracien, and Pan Qing Fu are just a few. Additionally, Sifu Diaz is a seventh-generation disciple of the Bak Mei kung fu system, a style rarely seen in the U.S.
