Qigong Seminar

Master Smith will be teaching a number of Qi (“chi”) Exercises combined with mental awareness and internal energy work

Some of the Qigong sets will be focusing on balances, relieving stiffness in neck, shoulders, back and legs (Knee Pain). Other Sets are focusing on regaining strength, energy and flexibility of youth. Finally, after completion, all participants will be refreshed and enlightened, feeling more alive and healthier. This type of physical activity has a long documented history in both India and China.

  • Coiling Silk Reeling Qigong (Warm-Up) - This gently open and close exercise is for the joints; improve posture and breathing and helps to develop resilience and supple strength, stimulating life force (qi) to flow without obstruction.

  • ShiBaShi 18 Qigong (SaBaShi) - These 18 movements which are form from Tai Chi/ Qigong are a gentle, beautiful and flowing Qigong exercise routine that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxes the body through out. Master Smith will be teaching you step by step the correct postures and the health benefits of each one.

  • Moving 10 (Tai Chi/ Qigong) - The Moving (10 ) Qigong is a great body opening routine which focus on balance, coordination and deep breathing while using the mind-body connection, impurities break away from the inner organs and stress is released from the body. The mind should remain calm and the entire body should be loose. One of the few Qi exercises that performs the ten repetitions of the entire movement on both sides. When this motion is done in coordination with the breathing, the internal organs will relax and loosen, and any Qi that may still be stagnant internally will be led to the surface of your body. You will be moving and releasing the stagnation by rocking back fourth while swinging the arms, front and back as you inhale and exhale.

  • 5 Animal Frolics Qigong - Five Animal Frolics is called Wu Qin Xi in Chinese, each frolic consists of two movements and embodies the essence of the traditional long form. Each animal form has a special effect on a human being's inner organ health: tiger form for liver energy flow; deer form for kidney; bear form for spleen and stomach; ape form for the heart; bird form for lungs. Five Animal Frolics can fully stimulate and awaken Qi, the vital energy inside of our body, contained within the meridian channels and cavities. Through the stimulation and accumulation of Qi, a person can clear out stress and sickness and may not only acquire a new sense of physical and mental energy, but create the conditions for longevity as well.

  • Coiling Qigong Set - (Dissolve Tension, Renew Vitality) - Coiling Qigong will work to energize the muscles, Joints & Bones. It strengthens and conditions the tendons in the body which enrich the bone marrow and promote healthy blood through-out. While expanding and contracting, it stimulates the meridian channels in the body and allows the chi to flow more evenly through-out the body and penetrate deeply into the bone marrow.

  • 8 Piece Brocades Qigong- (Ba Duan Jin) - Description: aka -Eight Treasures of Brocades. The Eight Piece Brocades is an eight-part, centuries-old (1,500 Years old) Chinese exercise suitable for all ages. It is recorded that these exercises appeared at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). These (“Qi”) breathing, stretching exercises are to maintain good health, help fight disease, and enhance the quality of life. This is intended to improve health, increase energy, revitalize the body and mind, prevent or control disease, tone the internal organs, improve balance, reduce stress, boost the immune system, remove toxins, tone the muscles and tendons, uplift mood, contribute to longevity. Great attention is given to concentrating, focusing the mind, intention and gazing when doing the eight exercises. Master Smith will be teaching the original old full version of this set.
